Jacob

This is my grandson Jacob who will be twelve in September and he helps me around the garden sometimes and loves to play with Bing, one of our pugs. Here he is with the sweet peas that are about seven feet tall.

Here they are playing soccer.

Here is Bing chasing bubbles. If you look hard enough you will just see the bubbles in the air.

Here I am next to the sweet peas that are so fragrant and tall. I wonder how they will look after we get back from a motorcycle trip the next five days?

Ta ta for now.

Hailey

This is Hailey, my six year old granddaughter. She spent the night with us last nightand we picked raspberrys, watered flowers and took pictures around the yard. Here she is sniffing a garlic blossom in the garden.

Here she is with my chair on the front porch.

Here she is with one of the hydrangias.

Here is a picture of the butterfly bushes at the end of the driveway by the greenhouse.

It was a great weekend.

Finally.......

For the past three weeks I have been hardly sitting down. I have made over 60 jars of strawberry and raspberry cooked jam. I did make 10 jars of freezer jam and then my dad challenged me to make cooked jam so I did. I have never done that before and it's been fun. I still have more raspberry's coming on.

I have also been getting ready for a tea I had in the garden last Saturday. It was so much fun. I didn't do any of the food planning, just getting the house and garden ready. I had help from Karen K who came over one day and helped in the house and did some border clean up. What a blessing. The other HUGE help I had was Simone B who did all the organizing of the food and setting up the morning of the tea. She brought over her antique tea cups and teapots and set everything so pretty outside. I think I will hire her to do all my parties!

Here is one of the small tables that was out in the grass.

Here are some of the gals who were there. Janna, Norma and me in the background.

Here are Diane, Janice, Karen and Norma.

I had snapdragons in pots coming onto the deck.

I put my scented geraniums along the walkway into the backyard where Mark had built out last gate.

Here is wonderful Simone sitting by the table. She is a wonderful organizer and she is so much fun to work with. I love her.

Here is another view of the table. The menu was simple with fruit, yogurt, muffins, tea and coffee.

Here are Simone's hands holding some dishes of food. It was so good.

Here is another one of the little tables that we had out on the lawn. Aren't the dishes pretty?

Here's another picture of Simone going into the house for more refills.

What a blessing to have friends. What would we do without them?

I've picked so many bouquets of sweet peas and given them away. It's been fun.

Well, this has been a little picture of what I've been up to. This only tells part of the story. Hope you're all having a great summer and I'll be back soon.

I'm in the garden

I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I have been making jam, getting ready and hosting a tea in the garden for 15 friends, and gardening. I will have pictures later.
